Youth Summer Camp

The Cultivating Resilience Youth Camp is an educational initiative offered under the Cultivating Resilience Program in collaboration with the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies of the University of Puerto Rico at Utuado (DECEP-UPRU). The camp is a 5-day educational experience aimed at young people between 12-17 years old, to foster their interest in agriculture. Priority is given to young people from families residing in rural municipalities within the area covered under this project (Utuado, Adjuntas, Jayuya, Ciales, Lares, San Sebastián, Las Marías, Maricao, Moca, Aguada, Aguadilla, Isabela, Quebradillas, Camuy, Hatillo and Arecibo). The camp is offered during the month of June at the University of Puerto Rico in Utuado and covers various topics on agriculture, soils, orchards, pollinators among others.  

 

Cultivating Resilience Outreach and Assistance Program for farmers in Puerto Rico is managed by the Hispanic-American Institute, and is offered thanks to a grant from USDA.
